Hearing the same repeated advice everywhere, and still not getting any improved results can be really frustrating. Especially when you feel like you are doing just about everything right, and still can't seem to go anywhere! Running the social media game can feel hopeless and sometimes, darn near impossible to get ahead in (especially without doing something crazy or embarrassing, or even crossing some sort of integrity line for a quick moment of viral attention).
We've all heard the same kind of tips everywhere at this point such as, "post 3-5 times a week," "Make quality content..." "Use hashtags..." "Follow trends!" "Reel in viewers with one of these compelling hooks..." "Use a call to action..." And although, yes, these methods are all 100% true and effective, they are not the sure fire way to earn the targeted amount of followers, views, and engagement that you want anytime soon. Not today anymore, atleast.
Yes quality content trumps everything.... but, there is also a little more to it than that. Although many follow all of the listed tips and rules mentioned above, they somehow still remain in the lower range of views within the algorithm. What else can one do to get ahead?
According to TikTok creator santinay_ "You want to boost your engagement on other people's posts...start liking and commenting on what other creators are posting." This TikTok creator said that she got 50k new followers in 2 days off of one viral video, claiming that this was due to increasing their engagement on other people's posts. They go on to explain that the TikTok algorithm likes to recommend people that they think you may know, and how this assumption can also come from engagement and not just your contacts.
Even though this content creator encourages engagement with followers you may know, they also emphasize not to create unorganic following. Meaning don't follow people just to follow (as many are currently doing so as part of the #teamwork trend to increase their follower amount). However this will not create long lasting results, which is why if you are following and engaging with others' contents, make sure it also aligns with yours and your own interests! Basically saying the secret is to engage and post! Engage and post! Engaging with others' content and comments will have TikTok leading similar users to your account and then seeing your content. So again, in order to go viral, engage and post!
So if you can't engage with viewers in your own content, do so with that of others! Which makes a lot of sense now on why I've seen so many famous and well-known brands start to interact with regular users now and no longer the average celebrity. They're trying to increase their followers and engagement, too!

The next piece of advice from TikTok content creator, startfreshsocial, is to use Creator Search Insights. Using this TikTok tool, this creator earner over 500k views within 7 days. This user usually goes to find the content gap and create content through the camera icon based on their listed topics. She then finishes by posting the video with the hashtag #creatorsearchinsights. Doing so has earned the user a significant amount of views. With a little extra tip similar to the other listed source earlier, she also goes to the same topics she uses to record and finds content from other users to engage with, before and after posting her content. This being the secret to her earning the 500k sum of views within a week of posting.
Overall lesson is, just don't be inorganic and all over the place; stay within your interests and common topic themes. Comment, like, share and overall engage. Little by little as you follow these steps and continue posting your own content, you will eventually meet and accomplish your TikTok goals and create a community along the way!
