For my first Dodger game I went with my friend Sazi. She's a big Dodger fan and
after I told her I'd be down to go while out at a movie premier, she invited me to go with her the following day.
Considering that she lived nearby the stadium, I showed up to her house where we pre-gamed and then took an uber to the stadium. It was actually pretty quick and super convenient. It seemed like it'd be a mess if we had driven there in our own car; there was surprisingly a lot of people there.

When we got there, it seemed like a pretty big festivity was going on; they were handing us some Latino themed towels saying "Viva Los Dodgers." It turned out that night they were retiring a famous Latino baseball player's number. His name was Fernando Valenzuela and they were retiring the number #34. They called it "Fernandomania Weekend". I thought that was so cool; I had only heard of something like that happening with someone like Jackie Robinson.
We made sure to find a good spot where we could see Valenzuela and his number getting retired. We also got to see some baseball players get some practice in. I loved it - it felt like being a part of the game. After the ceremony, we went up a few stairs to our seats in the upper level and to get food. On our way up, we got to meet Jaime Jarrín on the escalator and take a picture with him. It was really cool. Sazi told me how he's an important figure in the Latino community as he is the spanish commentator for the Dodger games.
Then on our way for food, we also came upon Valenzuela and saw him go into his private booth to watch the game. Wow, it was so cool how easily we ran into the people of the game; I loved it!
As we got upstairs, we got in line for same Dodger Dogs and garlic fries. Sazi had found out that they had plant-based Dodger Dogs; I was so excited. She also got us some drinks. By the time we sat down to eat I had already finished my Dodger dog it was sooo good! I had to go get another one. Although they didn't carry the plant-based ones in every stand, so I had gotten lost between floors looking for the right stand to get another one.
The garlic fries were alright. I more so enjoyed the drinks, the dogs, and the view. It was so fun, the view was beautiful; I could see the whole field. They had fun little games up on the screen playing throughout the game between breaks.
I had such a great time! I would love to go to another game. On our way out, we went to wait in the designated Uber/Lyft pick up area. While we waited, we could see the drone show at the end of the game, it was so cool how they moved and created different shapes.
Before we went home, Sazi wanted to check out a bar not too far from the place called The Offbeat - A Bar on York in Highland Park. She had been wanting to go for a while as she had heard they played Latino rock. It was alright. It was mostly people in their 30s and older. There weren't that many people there until later. Glad we got to check it out tho.
After dancing for a bit, we went back to her place and watched the Selena movie to fall asleep. Overall a super great experience (thanks to my friend Sazi) - 10/10 would do again!
